JEA has been retained to provide civil engineering and consulting services for investigating poor drainage conditions at the PAAW administration and operation center in Norristown. For this project, JEA was responsible for the preparation of an existing conditions survey, evaluation of drainage conditions, and the preparation of a report outlining an analysis of the findings, identification of areas in need of remedial work, and recommendations for improvements.
New Jersey American Water Works- Proposed Operations Office
Industrial Drive & East 6th Avenue; Hamilton Township, NJ
JEA was retained by J.F. McKernan Architects and Associates to provide site/civil engineering services for the preparation of a site improvement plans associated with the proposed lease and renovation of an existing facility into a regional Operations Office. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement plans; grading/drainage and stormwater management design; lighting/landscaping design, soil erosion/sediment control design plans, and meeting attendance. The plans were prepared for land development approvals; however, the project was terminated by NJAW prior to receipt of land development approvals and permits.
Verizon Wireless Regional Headquarters- Emergency Generator

JEA was retained to provide site/civil engineering services for the preparation of a site improvement plans associated with the installation of an emergency generator at the facility. Services included coordination of existing conditions survey, preparation of site improvement plans, drainage & landscaping design, and assistance with acquisition of land development approvals.
Wakefern Foods Distribution Center- Emergency Generator

JEA was retained as part of a design/build team to provide site/civil engineering services for the preparation of a site improvement plans associated with the installation of an emergency generator in the truck loading area at the facility. Services included coordination of on utility markout by private utility locating firm, existing conditions survey, preparation of site improvement plans, and assistance with acquisition of land development approvals.

Truck Garage, Office and Residence “M&M Trucking”
Monmouth Road, Eastampton Township, Burlington Co., NJ
JEA was retained to provide site/civil engineering design services associated with the demolition of existing residence and the construction of a 6,000 s.f. truck garage with office space and residential dwelling. The site improvements including construction of truck & employee parking areas, utility upgrades, stormwater management facilities, lighting, landscaping, and fencing. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement plans; civil design services; roadway improvements, and land use permitting.
American Honda Distribution Facility
Gaither Drive, Mt. Laurel Township, Burlington Co., NJ
JEA was retained to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the construction of access and parking modifications as part of the facility’s security upgrades. The project involves the re-alignment and extension of delivery truck access roadway with security guard house; isolation and re-alignment of employee parking access roadway, reconfiguration of employee parking area; expansion of truck parking & staging areas; storm-water collection/management/ conveyance system; landscaping; site/security lighting; replacement of fence with specialized security fencing; and utility extensions. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement plans; utility/drainage/ landscaping/lighting/ stormwater management system design; roadway improvements.
Trucking Terminal Parking Lot Expansion, New England Motor Freight (NEMF)
Winding Road; Bethpage, Long Island, NY
JEA was retained by New England Motor Freight to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the preparation of a preliminary site development plans for a proposed expansion of the existing trucking terminal. As part of these services, JEA coordinated survey and geotechnical engineering services and provided civil engineering design services associated with the asphalt pavement expansion, retaining wall structure, and drainage improvements. The expansion of the parking lot was to extend under existing high voltage overhead wires, for which JEA coordinated design efforts extensively and in conjunction with Long Island Power Authority.
Trailer Shop Building Addition, New England Motor Freight (NEMF)
North Avenue East; City of Elizabeth, NJ
JEA was retained by New England Motor Freight to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the construction of a 5,100 s.f. building expansion to the trucking terminal’s trailer repair shop. As part of these services, JEA provided and coordinated survey, structural, and geotechnical engineering services, and civil engineering design services associated with the building foundation design, parking lot modifications, and drainage improvements. The construction of the trailer shop addition was completed in the Spring of 2005.
Clean Tex Services
Pennington Avenue at Reservoir Street, City of Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ
JEA was retained to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the renovation of an existing industrial/warehouse building into an institutional laundry facility that cleans and processes laundry from nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living, and other similar facilities. This redevelopment project included the renovation of approximately 37,000 s.f. of the existing 89,000 s.f. building, construction of a 3-door loading dock, expansion and reconfiguration of the parking area, construction of an additional entrance, utility upgrades, lighting, landscaping, and fencing. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement plans; utility/drainage/ landscaping/lighting/ stormwater management system design; roadway improvements, and land use permitting, which included utility services approvals from the City and the N.J.D.E.P. for Treatment Works Approval, NJPDES Significant Industrial User Permit, Simplified Water Main Extension, and Physical Connection Permit. Construction is anticipated to start in the fall of 2009.
R.E. Pierson Construction Co. – Concrete Plant
Winslow Township, NJ
JEA was retained by R.E. Pierson Construction Company to provide site/civil engineering services for the preparation of a detailed analysis of the existing stormwater management system to evaluate the system’s capacity to accommodate additional stormwater runoff, determine if the system complies with current design standards, and provide recommendations for necessary modifications to the collection system and stormwater management basin.
