Woodbury High School

JEA was retained by Radey Associates Architects, on behalf of the Woodbury School System, to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the replacement/construction of a new track, athletic fields, stadium, and parking lot at the Woodbury High School in Woodbury, N.J. The project involved the construction of a new 8-lane synthetic running track, track events (high & long/triple jump, pole vault, shot put, and discus), athletic fields (football, soccer, field hockey fields and practice football field areas), concrete stadium structure, hillside stabilization and retaining wall structures, parking lot reconstruction and reconfiguration, storm-water collection/treatment/conveyance system, replacement of a stormwater outfall structure within the Woodbury Creek, and re-vegetation/landscaping design. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion the property survey; geotechnical investigation; wetland delineation/permitting; NJDEP and Army Corp of Engineer permitting; civil/site and structural engineering design and documentation; stormwater management design; specifications, and land development approvals (NJDEP/Army Corp of Engineers/County/ local). JEA also assisted the School with bid and construction phase administration services. This $5 million construction project was completed in the fall of 2007.

Walnut Street Elementary School

JEA has been retained by the Woodbury Public School District to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the replacement, enhancement, and extension of stormwater collection around the tennis courts and design of erosion control measures to stabilize the eroding hillside. The project consisted of the design of a stormwater collection swales; hillside stabilization with erosion control fabrics, revegetation of the eroded hillside, replacement of fencing, pavement restoration, and curb replacement. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; preparation of bid specifications; and land development approvals.

Ethel Burke Elementary School

JEA has been retained by the Radey Associates Architects, on behalf of the Bellmawr Board of Education, to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the expansion and reconfiguration of the parking and playground area at the Ethel Burke Elementary School. The expansion consisted of the relocation and reconfiguration of the parking lot; design of an underground stormwater management system; relocation of an existing playground and equipment; fencing; and new parking lighting. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; stormwater management design; landscaping and lighting; specifications, and land development approvals.

Somerdale Park Elementary School
(Site & Drainage Improvements: Phase I)

JEA has been retained by the Radey Associates Architects, on behalf of the Somerdale Board of Education, to provide site/civil engineering services associated with Phase I of various site & drainage improvements at the Somerdale Park Elementary School. The Phase I improvements consisted of the installation of new stormwater collection devices, downspout collection systems, network of conveyance piping, new curbing along the street frontage, replacement of sidewalks, and re-grading lawn and access areas to provide positive surface drainage. For this project, JEA was responsible for preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; stormwater management design; landscaping; specifications, and land development approvals. JEA assisted the School with bid and construction phase administration services during construction, which was completed in the summer of 2006.

Somerdale Park Elementary School
(Drainage Improvements: Phase V)
Borough of Somerdale, Camden County, NJ
JEA has been retained by the Somerdale Board of Education to provide site/civil engineering services associated with Phase V of various site & drainage improvements at the Somerdale Park Elementary School. The Phase V improvements were focused on improving drainage conditions of an existing low area adjacent to the school that had been inappropriately filled and graded which resulted in the creation of low areas which accumulated and held runoff water. These improvements consisted of the installation of re-grading the area to provide positive surface drainage, construction of a stabilized swale, installation of an underdrain system, fencing and landscaping. For this project, JEA was responsible for preparation the site improvement design; stormwater management design; landscaping; and County Soil Conservation District approvals. This construction was completed by the Facility Management staff on a fast track schedule during the summer of 2006.

Bellmawr Park Elementary School
(Drainage Improvements)
Borough of Bellmawr, Camden County, NJ
JEA has been retained by Radey Associates Architects, on behalf of the Bellmawr Board of Education to provide site/civil engineering services associated with site & drainage improvements at the Bellmawr Park Elementary School. The improvements consisted of replacing deteriorating exterior steps and handicap ramp, installation of a new access walkway, re-grading grass areas utilized for play areas to eliminate ponding and erosion conditions, and the installation of new stormwater collection and conveyance systems. For this project, JEA was responsible for preparation the site improvement and drainage design, specifications, County Soil Conservation District approvals, and construction phase administration services. This construction was completed in the summer of 2006.

Piscataway Township Schools
(Fleet Fueling Facility)
Township of Piscataway, Middlesex County, NJ
JEA has been retained by the Piscataway Township Schools to provide site/civil engineering services associated with construction of a new fleet fueling facility at the Ethel Road Maintenance Complex of the Piscataway Township School system. The fueling facility will consist of the installation of a 2,000 gallon above-ground fuel storage tank, asphalt pavement, stone pavement, security fencing, lighting, and drainage system modifications. For this project, JEA was responsible for preparation the site improvement and drainage design, specifications, land development approvals, and bid and construction phase administration services. This construction is anticipated to commence in the winter of 2006 and be completed by the spring of 2007.

Sanitary Sewer Lateral Replacement

JEA has been retained by the Woodbury School District to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the replacement and rerouting of the sanitary sewer main servicing the school. The project consisted of the installation of a new sanitary sewer lateral, reconfiguration of the lateral routing, abandoning and filling the existing sewer main, and the restoration of sidewalks and landscaped areas. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; land development approvals, and bid/construction phase support services.

Grading Modifications at Playground
Evergreen Avenue Elementary School

JEA has been retained by the Woodbury School District to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the grading modifications and expansion of the playground at the school. The project consisted of the removal of asphalt paved areas, excavation and modification to grading in the playground area, and the restoration of the area as a grassed playground space. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a construction plans, land development approvals, and bid/construction phase support services.

Waterford Township Public School District
Waterford Township, Camden Co., NJ
JEA has been retained by Waterford Township Public School District to provide civil engineering and consulting services for investigating poor drainage conditions at the Waterford Elementary School. For this project, JEA was responsible for retaining services of firm for completion of video pipe inspection and the preparation of a report outlining an analysis of the findings, identification of areas in need of remedial work, and recommendations for improvements, and preparation of an estimated cost for improvements.

Saint Luke Catholic School

JEA has been retained by the J.F. McKernan & Associates Architects, on behalf of the Diocese of Camden, to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the expansion of the school and site improvements to accommodate the consolidation of local Catholic schools at this facility. The project consisted of an eight (8) classroom building expansion, reconfiguration of the parking lot and traffic circulation; design of a stormwater management & detention systems; relocation of trash/recycling storage facilities, new walkways, fencing, lighting, and landscaping. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; stormwater management design; landscaping design; and land development approvals. JEA also assisted with bid and construction phase administration services. This project was initiated in the Spring of 2008 and completed on a fast-track basis to enable opening of the facility for the start of school in September 2008.

Saint Michael the Archangel Regional Catholic School

JEA has been retained by the St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the Diocese of Camden to provide site/civil engineering services associated with the expansion of the school and site improvements to accommodate the consolidation of St. Catherine of Siena Regional School of Clayton and St. Bridget’s Catholic School of Glassboro at this facility. The project consisted of a modular building addition containing ten (10) classrooms; building additions to serve as a connection link between the existing school and modular building; a 1,000 s.f. building addition for expansion of the existing kitchen; reconfiguration and expansion of the parking lot and traffic circulation; new playground; relocation of utility services; new walkways; fencing; lighting; and landscaping. For this project, JEA was responsible for completion and preparation of a property survey; site improvement designs; lighting & landscaping design; and land development approvals. JEA also prepared bid documents and provided bid & construction phase administration services. This project was initiated in the Spring of 2008 and completed on a fast-track basis to enable opening of the facility for the start of school in September 2008.
